Is there really no subscription?+
Correct. $4.99 once and the app is yours. No tier, no unlock, no recurring charge. Ever.
Do I need an account?+
No. PRESS stores everything on your device. There's no sign-up, no login, no cloud sync across accounts.
Does it work offline?+
Yes. The entire app runs on-device. No cell signal required on the 13th tee.
How does the scorecard scanner work?+
Apple's built-in document scanner captures the card with automatic perspective correction. Vision OCR then extracts the par row (18 values of 3, 4, or 5) and the stroke-index row (a permutation of 1–18). If something can't be read, you edit manually. All on-device — no photos uploaded anywhere.
How many players can play?+
2–8 depending on the game. Nassau supports 2–4, Wolf is strict 4-player, Nines is 3-player. Skins, Stableford, and BBB scale up to 8.
Is my data private?+
There is no telemetry, no analytics SDK, no crash reporter sending your data anywhere. Scores and players stay on your phone. The Watch app communicates only with your paired iPhone.
Does it handle handicaps?+
Yes. Flip on Net Scoring during setup and PRESS allocates strokes by stroke index using a relative-handicap model — the lowest handicap plays scratch, everyone else receives the difference. Net scores feed Nassau, Skins, Stableford, Wolf and Nines. You can edit a handicap mid-round too; standings recalculate immediately.
Does PRESS handle any money?+
No. PRESS keeps score and works out who owes whom at the end. Settling up happens between you and your playing partners — the app never takes, holds, or transfers a payment, and has no connection to any payment service.
Does it track how I'm doing over a season?+
Yes. The Season screen nets every finished round together, with 30- and 90-day views, and shows how you've done against each regular partner. It's built from rounds already on your phone — nothing to sync. Note it's performance, not a running balance: PRESS doesn't know whether anyone has squared up.
What if rain stops play at hole 14?+
Settle the partial round. PRESS calculates Nassau/Skins/Stableford/Nines correctly on incomplete scorecards.
What about team games, Vegas, or the press mechanic itself?+
